Immersify (2017 – 2018)

The EU Horizon 2020 funded research project Immersify was exploring potential of cutting-edge VR technology and media for immersive single- and multiuser environments. This was including developing high-quality video codecs especially tailored for the requirements, as well as high-performance streaming technology, designing and implementing respective presentation environments, research into appropriate interaction methodologies, evaluating newest hardware, and creating required tools.
Context: 3-year Horizon 2020 funded research project with focus on novel technologies for immersive VR
Contribution: research into approaches for immersive telepresence & high-res live-streaming of stereoscopic 3D imagery, implementation of prototype server and client solutions for high-res (2x QHD+) low-latency 60 fps stereo capture, streaming, and presentation
