Underbody (2019)
credit: Tom Mesic
Underbody is a 15-minute dance performance by Silke Grabinger (AT, choreographer and dancer) in cooperation with Johannes Braumann (UFG Linz) and the Ars Electronica Futurelab, premiered at the Big Concert Night of the Ars Electronica Festival 2019. It is based on Gertrud Bodenwieser’s play “Dämon Maschine” (1923), where five dancers turn into one machine. Contrarily here, one “dancer” is portraited by five machines, i.e. by five industrial KUKA industrial robot arms.
